The role
Job Summary
As an Azure Solution Sales Consultant for Cloud Services, you will partner with field sales, solution architects, and delivery teams to uncover customer needs, shape solution direction, and articulate the business value of Azure across infrastructure, data, and AI. You may also engage customers modernizing legacy on-premises storage—especially NetApp-based environments—by helping define hybrid strategies and migration paths into Azure, coordinating the right technical resources to deliver outcomes.

Required Skills:
Sales Competencies (with foundational Azure knowledge):
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a B2B technology sales, solution sales, presales, or customer-facing commercial role.
Strong pipeline creation and deal progression skills (prospecting, discovery, qualification, account planning, and next-step orchestration).
Ability to build executive relationships and sell to business outcomes; confident presenting value propositions and handling objections.
Disciplined forecasting and CRM hygiene; communicates deal status, risks, and close plans clearly and consistently.
Solid knowledge of Azure and cloud concepts (security, networking, storage, and data) sufficient to run discovery and engage the right specialists—without needing to be an engineer or solution architect.
Ability to position, at a high level, common Azure solution areas (cloud migration, storage modernization including NetApp, and Data & AI) and translate customer needs into a clear pursuit plan.
Working knowledge of Azure Data & AI concepts and common services (e.g., Fabric/Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory, ADLS, Purview, and Azure AI services/Azure OpenAI) with the ability to position options and bring in specialists for deep dives.
Certifications that would be a plus: Microsoft Azure (e.g., AZ-104/AZ-305), Data & AI (e.g., DP-203, AI-102), Azure Security, FinOps; storage-related credentials a plus (e.g., NetApp or equivalent), plus strong Windows Server/Linux fundamentals.

The Azure Solution Sales Consultant reports to the VP of Cloud Solution Sales and collaborates closely across field sales teams, the broader solution sales organization, sales leadership, and the delivery teams.

Target compensation for this role will be $190-220k (mix of base salary and bonus). Actual offers may be higher or lower than this range and will be determined based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) candidates’ qualifications, experience, education, and work location.
