Azure Devops Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Azure Network & Platform Engineer to join a large, enterprise-focused environment on a 12‑month contract, based in Sydney CBD with a flexible hybrid working model.

This role is critical to the design, build, and operation of secure, scalable, and compliant Azure platform and networking foundations, supporting enterprise and government-aligned environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate Azure Landing Zones aligned to the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
• Architect and manage Azure networking and hybrid connectivity (vNets, Private Link, VPN, ExpressRoute)
• Implement and enforce network security and firewall controls (Azure Firewall, WAF, Zero Trust principles)
• Establish strong governance, compliance, and security guardrails using Azure Policy and IaC
• Automate Azure platform and networking components using Terraform/Bicep and CI/CD pipelines
• Support platform reliability through monitoring, incident response, and DR/HA design

What makes you a good fit

Essential

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure networking & platform infrastructure
• Azure Firewall, NSGs, Private Link, hybrid connectivity (VPN / ExpressRoute)
• Azure Landing Zones (CAF-aligned)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Bicep)
• Microsoft Entra ID integration
• CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Scripting with PowerShell and Azure CLI

Desirable

• Experience in government or regulated environments
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust architecture and security frameworks
