Job purpose
The D365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant will be responsible for designing, configuring, and delivering end‑to‑end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions with a strong focus on finance and project accounting. The role requires deep functional expertise across core financial modules, multi‑legal entity environments, and cross‑functional integrations to ensure accurate financial management, regulatory compliance, and optimized business processes. The consultant will act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, translating business requirements into scalable D365 F&O solutions.
Key responsibilities
Configure and manage core D365 Finance modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash & Bank, Fixed Assets, and Budget Management.
Design and implement multi‑legal entity finance setups including intercompany accounting, shared services, currency revaluation, and consolidation.
Lead period‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
Configure and maintain tax structures such as VAT, GST, and withholding tax in line with statutory requirements.
Set up budget planning, budget control frameworks, and approval workflows across legal entities.
Support project and operational budgeting, variance analysis, and compliance with internal financial controls and audit policies.
Lead Project Operations configuration including project types, costing, revenue recognition, and billing methods.
Configure project budgeting, cost control, resource management, and project invoicing.
Ensure seamless integration between Project Operations and Finance for accurate project accounting and reporting.
Implement procurement and sourcing processes including vendor management, RFQs, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and policies.
Configure procurement workflows, approval hierarchies, vendor collaboration, and category management.
Configure sales order processing, pricing, trade agreements, discount structures, credit management, and billing.
Ensure smooth integration of sales processes with inventory and warehouse management.
Develop and support financial statements, statutory reports, Electronic Reporting (ER), and Power BI dashboards for analytics.
Design and maintain finance, procurement, and project workflows using Power Automate, collaborate cross‑functionally, and support testing, UAT, post‑go‑live activities, and junior consultant mentoring.
Key competencies
Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience as a Finance & Operations Functional Consultant.
Strong expertise in core finance, budgeting, project accounting, procurement, and sales processes.
Proven experience with multi‑legal entity, intercompany accounting, and shared services models.
In‑depth understanding of taxation, compliance, audit readiness, and financial controls.
Expertise in workflow configuration, Electronic Reporting (ER), and Power BI integration.
Strong ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into effective D365 F&O solutions.
Ability to work closely with business users, finance leaders, and technical teams.
Strong documentation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in complex projects.
