Typical Schedule: M-F, 40 hours per week. Some evenings and weekends may be necessary to meet the needs of the department.
Purpose: The Director of Operations, Enrollment Management & Student Engagement serves as a key administrative leader supporting the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Engagement at Holy Cross College at Notre Dame. This position provides comprehensive operational oversight and strategic support across a diverse portfolio of departments including admission, financial aid, student activities, residence life, office of student success/advising, career development, wellness, and athletics. The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring seamless coordination between departments, managing complex projects, facilitating effective communication, and creating an environment of hospitality that enhances the overall student experience.
Essential Job Duties:
Administrative Support & Strategic Operations
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Engagement, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and preparation of reports and presentations
- Serve as primary liaison between the Vice President and department heads across all divisions (admission, financial aid, student activities, residence life, student success/advising, career development, wellness, and athletics)
- Assist in the development and implementation of divisional strategic initiatives and operational policies
- Coordinate cross-departmental projects and ensure alignment with institutional goals and priorities
- Manage confidential information and sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
Event Planning & Program Management
- Coordinate divisional events, including orientation programs, student engagement activities, professional development workshops, and special celebrations
- Collaborate with campus partners to ensure seamless event logistics, including venue coordination, catering, technology support, and vendor management as needed
- Evaluate event effectiveness and implement improvements for future programming
- Coordinate divisional participation in college-wide events and initiatives
Communication & Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain internal communication strategies to ensure effective information flow across all departments within the division
- Serve as primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including prospective students, parents, alumni, and community partners
- Create and distribute divisional newsletters, updates, and announcements
- Coordinate messaging and communications for divisional initiatives and programs
Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives
- Lead and coordinate special projects as assigned by the Vice President, including policy development, process improvement initiatives, and institutional research projects
- Collaborate with institutional research and assessment teams to support data-driven decision making
- Support grant writing and funding initiatives related to enrollment management and student engagement
Campus Systems & Technology Management
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of campus information systems, including student information systems, customer relationship management platforms, and communication tools
- Coordinate data requests and system access for divisional staff
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and institutional policies
- Identify opportunities for process improvement through technology solutions
Hospitality & Culture Development
- Foster an environment of hospitality that reflects the Catholic, Holy Cross mission and values of the institution
- Coordinate divisional professional development opportunities and team-building activities
- Support new employee onboarding and orientation processes
- Serve as a welcoming presence for visitors, prospective students, and families
Minimum Education, Skills, and Ability:
- Bachelor's degree required; master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education administration, operations management, or related field
- Demonstrated experience in project management, event planning, and coordination of complex initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse constituencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and student information systems (Jenzabar, Slate, Power BI)
- Experience with budget management and financial oversight
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in enrollment management, student affairs, or academic support services
- Knowledge of Catholic higher education and the Holy Cross educational tradition
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (Power BI)
- Familiarity with accreditation processes and compliance requirements
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) preferred
- Experience with digital marketing and social media management
